MG Hector Variant and Engine details out.
#1

MG Hector variant and spec details have been leaked. It is going to come with a 2.0 litre FCA sourced diesel engine (producing 170 PS power and 350 Nm torque) paired with a 6 speed M/T (No diesel AT!) and a 1.5 litre petrol engine(producing 143 PS power and 250 Nm torque) paired with a 6 speed M/T and a 6 speed DCT (present only the top 2 variants).

It measures 4655 mm in length, 1835 mm in width, 1760 mm in height, has a wheelbase of 2750 mm and a Ground Clearance of 192 mm.

It comes with a narrow choice of colours including Candy White, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, Burgundy Red, and Glaze red.

The Hector is gonna come in four variants named Style, Super, Smart, and Sharp.

The Style variant is pretty bare bones and seems like a mere price shock to draw crowds into the MG showrooms which for now would have only one car on offer. It lacks the much-hyped 10.4-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen, powered ORVMs, cruise control and comes only in white and silver colour. Though poorly equipped, it has a wide gamut of safety features such as disc brakes on all wheels, ABS, EBD, BA, ESP, TCS, Hill hold which are usually reserved for the top variants. Strangely, only two airbags are present. It also comes with rear seat recline (absent in most competitors), LED turn indicators, and 2 fast charging ports.

The Super variant adds the 10.4" touchscreen (with Android Auto and Apple Car Play), Cruise control, rear camera, LED tail and fog lamps, and 2 tweeters and that is pretty much it.

Then comes the Smart variant which has almost all the speculated goodies barring a few. The variant includes Internet connectivity, subwoofer, 8 speakers, TPMS, Navigation, remote car operation, artificial leather seats, 6 way electronically adjustable driver seat, Push button Start-stop, power adjustable and foldable ORVMs, 4 airbags and 17" alloy wheels.

The top-of-the-line Sharp variant adds a Panoramic sunroof, sunglass holder (don't know what's so special with this that it comes only in the top variant), heated ORVMs, rain sensing wipers, auto headlamps, 4-way electronically adjustable passenger seat, and a 360-degree camera. Ha! A pretty long feature list.

The MG Hector is expected to be priced anywhere in between 16 to 20 Lacs Ex-showroom Delhi.
